Sunrise over a ridgeline with the pines still in shadow.

The wood comes off the laser bare, and then I wash the color in by hand — sky first, then the sun, then the trees.

Two colorways. Sage + Silver is the softer one, cool and quiet and good with neutrals. Turquoise + Gold is brighter and warmer, and shows up better against a tan or a dark sweater.

• Birch wood, cut and engraved in my studio
• Color applied by hand, then sealed
